Levin serves on the House Ways and Means Committee and is the
ranking Democrat on the Trade Subcommittee. He also serves on
the Human Resources Subcommittee.

Eastin, President (confirmed)
What is ISNET World? ISNET World is a web-based contractor
database that helps owners and contractor/suppliers satisfy
governmental and operator specific record keeping requirements,
reduces the administrative costs of managing and pre-qualifying
contractor/suppliers and eliminates the need to maintain
multiple contractor databases. Contractor/Suppliers also use the
system to manage training and record keeping requirements.

Regulatory Update with United States
Coast Guard (USCG) Headquarters, Office of Response, Captain
Mike Karr (confirmed).
The USCG Office of Response is responsible for the integration
of planning, preparedness and response operations for pollution
incidents, marine accidents, natural disasters, terrorism, and
other threats to public safety, the environment, and the marine
transportation system. Captain Karr has been invited to discuss
pending and new regulations, training and drill requirements in
accordance with the Preparedness for Response Exercise Program
(PREP) and to provide insight into the challenges and process
improvements his office has seen for spill responses nationally
over the past year.

Update from
National Pollution Fund Center (NPFC)– Tom Morrison, Chief,
Claims Adjudication Division and Donna Helberg, Removal Branch
Chief of NPFC (confirmed). Several
representatives from the National Pollution Fund Center (NPFC)
will review the mechanics of filing a claim with NPFC, discuss
lessons learned from case studies and changes to policies and
procedures that have been implemented in the last year.

AIG Environmental – Darin Winick, Association Programs for
Contractors (confirmed) - Environmental Risk Management Is Our
Business! AIG Environmental offers a variety of environmental
insurance products and programs combined with supporting
services that are designed to be responsive to the environmental
exposures faced by the industry and the response community.

Small Business
Legislative Council (SBLC) Update with John Satagaj (confirmed)
-SCAA has invited John Satagaj, President of the Small Business
Legislative Council, to provide an update on pending legislation
affecting small businesses. This year SCAA joined the long list
of trade organizations that benefit from their membership in the
Small Business Legislative Council.
9:30 am – 10:30 am
Ray Hayden, Chief of
Procurement Branch, USCG, Maintenance and Logistics Command
Atlantic (MLCA) (Confirmed) will provide insight into the
challenges and process improvements his office has seen for
contracting for pollution incident and natural disasters over
the past two years, including continuing operations his office
is handling for Hurricane Katrina.

Panel Discussion of Spill Response
Contractor Payment Issues –
Sharon Palustre, Contracting Officer, USCG, MLCA (Confirmed);
Ray Hayden, USCG, MLCA (confirmed); Lt. Robert Gore, USCG
(confirmed); a representative from a
spill management group and
representatives from the insurance industry will
initiate a lively discussion of issues related to spill response
contractor payments. All members of the spill response community
will want to participate in this discussion to help improve on
the current systems and procedures. |
