Emerging Environmental Leaders

The Spill Control Association of America (SCAA) Environmental Excellence Award is awarded annually to three (3) students conducting studies in the areas of Oil Spill Response, Disaster Response & Recovery, and Emerging Contaminants. Three (3) $1,000.00 scholarships are awarded.

SCAA was organized in 1973 as the Voice of Spill Response Professionals. Today, SCAA is the nation’s preeminent industry association for the response community, representing response contractors, manufacturers of response equipment & technology, consultants, distributors, and government & training institutions. SCAA promotes a healthy and vibrant all-hazards response posture from the sharing of best management practices in health & safety programs, workforce development initiatives, and by taking a proactive advocacy role with governmental entities. Additionally, SCAA’s Emerging Environmental Leaders (EEL) program encourages the active development, mentorship, and growth of emerging professionals in our industry. The annual Environmental Excellence Award reinforces the importance of this initiative and recognizes the important role that students play in shaping the future.
